Sony PS3 Slim
Ok then a new Sony PS3 Slim is coming this autumn, ok this is a rumor we know but according to T3 they are reporting a slim line version on the Sony Playstation 3. T3 have a well informed insider that knows everything.

Apparently and I say apparently the new Sony PS3 Slim will be much slimmer and lighter than the current gaming console (Obviously), I love that bit, it will be slimmer and lighter, is that because it is called the Sony PS3 Slim, that kind of gives it away really.

Personally I will put this in the “maybe it will happen corner“, and when it does happen, I will take it out and give it a cuddle.

reduction of size does not necessarily mean a substantial loss of memory. With new fixed disc technology rapidly improving, it is quite possible to hold a lot of memory on a 2.5 inch disc, which is what was the initial idea for sony, but the discs melted for whatever reason. While one may not hold more than 50GB at the moment, I for one would not be surprised if a 100GB or 150GB one came out in the near future. Not to mention, SD made its milestone acheivment with microSD. Insanely small, but holds tons of data for its size. It’s stunning that cards like that can hold 8gb (SDHC) and full size SD cards can now hold up to 32GB. Fixed disc, while expensive at the moment will drop in price while expanding its size. Therefore, size does not necessarily correlate to disc space.. at least on console platforms.

well sony has made a slim version for every one of there consoles and is most likely gonna happen for the ps3 i mean why not?

I think we need to approach it from several angles…

    1. Technology. Anyone who says that it isn’t possible is an idiot. I think we all can agree that the technology is getting exponentially better.

    2. Economics. Here is the hiccup. Is it worth Sony’s time and money to do this? That is where the argument really comes in because the payoff may not be profitable; it is hard to see.

    3. Publicity (with a little economics). Having a new product or a new story generates sales because it puts their product inside people’s heads. I never thought I would buy a ps3 until a friend said he was and we talked about it, and then I kept on reading about it until it was all I could think about. The hype and mystery created are both deliberate because they generate sales.

    4. There are more angles….. let’s just stop arguing whether the technology could or couldn’t happen.

hi i work in the game console industry on the repair and modding side that is and well the ps3 IS 2X the power of the 360 witch is to say the least unstable and the 360 also has over heating problens trashis disk’s and the ps3 well i have both got them at the same time and well i am on my 3rd 360 and 1st ps3 and as for making a slim ps3 well a man in the USA ben heck i beleave managed to shrink a 60gb ps3 into a laptop and this is a man not sony so i am sure that if and when the make a slim ps3 then it will be just as good if not better than the curant on remember the ps2 slim well that WAS faster and better than the old one so watch this space . luke giles (soniclg)

like the slim verison of playstation2 I will not like it. I have a slim ps2 and no ps3.I will not like the new slim ps3, when I get one I will make sure to buy a 80gb phat version. I thought the slim ps2 was a bad idea to. Sony can just keep it the same and it will be better.
