Sony PS3 Slim launching this Autumn Rumor: Do you reckon?

Ok then a new Sony PS3 Slim is coming this autumn, ok this is a rumor we know but according to T3 they are reporting a slim line version on the Sony Playstation 3. T3 have a well informed insider that knows everything.
Apparently and I say apparently the new Sony PS3 Slim will be much slimmer and lighter than the current gaming console (Obviously), I love that bit, it will be slimmer and lighter, is that because it is called the Sony PS3 Slim, that kind of gives it away really.
Personally I will put this in the “maybe it will happen corner“, and when it does happen, I will take it out and give it a cuddle.

Sh*t… this make no sense at all, really, what have you been smoking lately? just think, how are you going to put all that BIG (and i really mean it, BIG) piece of heaven the PS3 is in something small enough, that could be compareable to that of the size of the slim PS2 or something like it. The removal of components would have to be obviously done, and well, afterall PS3 is a Multimedia Center, keyword, Multimedia; so, taking components off can really erase the word Multimedia and its meaning of the description of the PS3… don’t you think?

Heinrech… thats like saying they could never have taken a huge computer the size of a room (ENIAC) and shrunken it down to the size of a laptop… i understand it took time but at the rate technology is developing today, it is quite possible that they will release a slim line. With the 2.5 inch instant access hardrives running around these days, the space needed will drop significantly along with a smaller processor w/ the same capability. Ps3 has a 3.0 ghz processor and today quad cores are manufactured w/ 3.0 ghz specs (core2extreme) and a 12MB cache! the largest component would be the blu-ray player. Im sure they could easily shrink down the rsx… for example, there are dual-graphics processor video cards w/ 1gb memory and laptops today with 512mb of VIDEO MEMORY! (and im not talking about the nvidia quadro series).. back when ps3 was being developed, 3.0 ghz was amazing… wer talkin about sony… not some crappy ass rip-off company… ahem microsoft… Look how fast sony releases new stuff… and i doubt they will wait 10 years to start developing a new console… b/c thats way too long. Id say no longer than 7. Eventually ps3 will die if they wait that long because desktop and even laptop gaming will look a hell of a lot nicer by then. Console gamers will be ANXIOUSLY awaiting the next-gen consoles. So basically… while it may not be this year, I beleive it is very likely that it will be in the near future… and also, wont you feel ripped off when the ps3 releases w/ the 160GB hdd and the new dualshock-3 controller for the same price as the previous 80gb one? (if you paid for that one, that is..) I’m sure Sony’s not afraid to piss people off… aesthetics will likely win the heart of many… therefore it is most likely to be very successful no matter when it is released. Not to mention the dualshock 3 controller and a 160gb hardrive is much more valueble than a pos spiderman3 blu-ray which… u could netflix for cheap as crap. Also… the 160 gb hdd will come in handy for the new movie service sony releases later this year. Wont you feel mad when u dont have enough space to store movies? again… they probably wont wait 10 years to release ps3 slim… ha.
P.S. look at apple’s ipod touch. its basically an extremely slim palm when its jailbroken. its also a multimedia device… and its even moreso rediculous than the ps3. sony can take ps3 to a whole new level… while minimizing the rediculously… and i mean REDICULOUSLY large amount of space it takes up.
Hiya im a PS3 owner and i think this one could really be true if you look on google.co.uk for PS3 system (Slim and Lite) their are a few that look quite bad to be honest. also , Sony would bring out a new model quickly as i think this is what they are capable of, seen as i brought the 60GB model the day it came out, and look where that has gone now, they are not being made any more, so Sony are moving on quite rabidly witht he making of there products as the new one the 40GB model only took them about a year too bring up , but as above it says about how hard it is too just start shoving little chips in with big fans or big chips with little fans , just face it it isnt going to work, because i have tried putting my 60GB Card in to a 40GB and blew the 40Gb up :S lol (Did get that one replaced for free though). also it did piss me off lodes just simply because the 60 model
is a lot louder than the 40Gb which was anoying but i do use my SD card readers soo i didnt really want to trade mine in for the 40GB model, might have to check what prices are at the moment for 60GB model and trade that one in for the 60 GB , does any one actually know why the xbox is so bad ? i do kno that its something too do with a chip on the motherboard which the fan just cant simple control ???

adding on.. i learned that sony’s processor is an 8 core multiple 3.0 ghz processor. 6 devoted to gaming, 1 for the operating system, and 1 for absolutely NOTHING.. interesting as it may be.. not sure why ps3 absolutely needs this type of processor. Just adds more problems to cooling the damn thing… aside from that.. they could also go liquid MTEC cooling (no liquid reservoir) to conserve space while significantly improving the cooling capacity of the console (that is if they are not using liquid cooling already). Anyhoo it is very very possible that PS3 Slim could make its debut in fall ‘08. I’m looking forward to it.
if they made it that slim it wouldn’t hold allot of memory.
Okay, First of all. I am not a PS3 fan. I like the ps3. It’s good , but I prefer the Xbox 360. I am neutral between both consoles, unless an argument is brought up between the two. More to the point, the chances of a PS3 slim. In my opinion, are slim. Because of all the memory and the drives and etc. they wouldn’t be able to minimize the size of it. If they did , the Graphics and storage would be worse. There would be less of everything really. That’s why the new generation consoles (Both xbox 360 and PS3) are big and heavy. And the design is not the best. If it is an actual design. Of course it is inevitible that i will recieve comments saying ” Xbox 360 Fanboy” or something like that, But even if I did own a PS3 I wouldn’t buy the slim version.
And I thought Sony weren’t bringing anything out for awhile?
And, Yes I know people will name drop and throw a load of ” 1080i” and ” Blu ray” and all that ps3 stuff.
