It looks as if there could be a turn around in the sales for the PS3 for 2008, with a new SKU and a strong market share in Europe, the PS3 is looking like it will have a good shot.

EA are jumping on board with the bullish ways of Sony, about the ‘10 year life cycle’ and they predict that they will reach between 9.5 to 11.5 million sales, this is substantial amount more than to 6 to 8 million Xbox 360’s sold.

Most of the sales are expected to be found in Europe, EA have also predict that the sale for the Nintendo Wii should be in the region of 12 to 14 million.

It is quite incredible that even EA who are Microsoft’s biggest bum chums think the PS3 will sell up to 5.5m more units than the 360 this year JUST in the EU and US. You have to remember that it will also outsell the 360 by a few million in Japan.

I think EA has to say that because all of there PS3 titles are inferior to the ones they make for the 360. Why would anyone want to get an EA game for the PS3 when they clearly say they have development issues. I think that they have been to chummy with Microsoft and are forced to show some love to PS3 as well so they don’t seem bias.

I find it funny that I’ve seen three different number figures from three different sites.
Sony assumes they have a 10 year console unit. We all know in five years some company will come up with the latest and the greatest. The 3D tv’s at ECS is a good indicator of the next direction.
