Lily Allen and Ed Simons split

As if Lily Allen has not been through enough already and now to top it all off she has been dumped by Ed Simons just weeks after losing their unborn baby.

Lily who suffered a miscarriage was last night said to be heartbroken.

It’s said that the couple’s five-month relationship hit the rocks as they battled their grief by taking a £3,000-a-night holiday in the Maldives. Apparently they tried to patch things up on their return to the UK but following a series of bitter rows Ed told Lily that it’s over.

A friend of Lily’s said that “They tried to make things work but couldn’t. The miscarriage was a horrible experience for both of them - and in recent weeks the mood between them had been really strained. Lily is really upset things haven’t worked out for her and Ed. She had talked about settling down for good and having a family. But there is a big age difference and the heartbreak they had to cope with was too much too early in their relationship.”

Lily’s spokesman refused to comment on the split
