Leica have new M8 hardware upgrade program: Tweaks can be made at a price

The latest news in the way of Leica is that they have just rolled out a new M8 hardware upgrade program, their action plan to address those problem M8 digicams fresh off the factory floor. Yes the digital camera firm have a new upgrade path just for you, but it is not free.
All Leica M8 owners that love their cameras can get their name on a waiting list and once your name/number has been called you will get the delights of shipping their device to Germany where a number of tweaks will happen.
Apparently each and every M8 is suitable for upgrading and will get sent back to you with a fresh two year warranty, you can even have them fitted with a scratch-resistant LCD monitor cover (whoa roll out the barrels) plus a new electronically-controlled metal-blade slotted shutter that offers less noise and vibration.
Like all the above? If you do it will cost you a pretty packet, these change will set you back a stonking €1,200 ($1,775).
