Can a Dog Litter Box Replace the Daily Walk????

On recently viewing on PetsitUSA I discovered this article about an indoor dog loo, fantastic idea, yes but not an aid to replace your dogs exercise. This is what one resident in Chicago has done with their Burmese Mountain dog, they no longer walk their dog to the park which is nearby.
I have one dog which is a mixed breed of Rhodesian/Mastiff type and I also have a mixed terrier puppy. Sometimes it is hard especially if it’s late at night and the kids are bed to take them out and if it’s too cold I have bribe them to go in the garden. This dog loo would be the perfect solution, but only for emergencies, especially as an aid in puppy training.
I get my dogs out for a walk at least once per day even if it’s just around the block and on weekends either to the beech or to the local forest for a good run. It is hard work keeping a dog, but its rewarding too!!
It can’t be healthy for that dog not going out for a walk, it has mental as well as physical needs to. Dogs like to get fresh air and have different smells and play. Personally I don’t agree with the loo being used as a replacement to walking, what do you think????
