Paramount Confirm Cloverfield Sequel: Should It Happen?

Oh dear. It seems Paramount have agreed to a Cloverfield sequel thanks to it’s success at the box office. Yes, Cloverfield was a fantastic movie but it doesn’t necessarily mean that people want a sequel.

I’m not sure where a Cloverfield sequel would go. Do we want to learn about where the monster came from or what happened next? Personally, I feel a sequel will take away from the original experience of Cloverfield.

One saving grace is the fact that Matt Reeves and JJ Abrams will climb on board again. Maybe they can conjure up something totally different while retaining an essence of Cloverfield?
