It has been reported that Nancy Cartwright who is the voice behind cartoon character Bart Simpson, has been awarded Scientology’s Patron Laureate Award after donating $10 million to the faith in 2007.
Its said that Nancy gave even more than Tom Cruise who is reported to be the controversial religion’s second-in-command who has donated $5 million in the last four years.
Fellow followers John Travolta and Kelly Preston gave $1 million each and were awarded the Gold Meritorious Award, while Priscilla Presley was handed the Patron Award for a donation of $50,000.
The prizes were handed out at a top secret ceremony in Florida last summer, according to the American publication.

Typical of media misrepresentations is calling the award ceremony “top secret.” These events are as secret as the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art’s latest exhibition. “Impact” magazine (published at least twice each year) details Scientology’s social improvement programs and results worlwide. The magazine always has a section of major donations (including names and photos). “Impact” is mailed to Scientologists and copies are available at every Church of Scientology, often in the reception area. Summary of social improvement programs are at http://www.able.org and http://www.cchr.org
It is unfortunate that Cartwright has given money to an extremist organization that actively destroys families and regularly commits human rights abuses.
