New format war: Go away DVI because HDMI is winning
By: Daniel Chubb | January 30, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Apparently the DVI monitor standard with facing strong competition from other technologies which includes HDMI and the DisplayPort standard in the PC market and that DVI will decline steeply in 2008.
The DVI interface will decline from 112 million units in 2007 to around about 3 million in 2011 which is a massive loss when you round the numbers up. The main reason for all of this is because the killer on the block or better known as HDMI, HDMI is having a wave of support at the moment which will be included on 143 million devices this year.
So basically goodbye DVI and HD DVD.
