Ron Paul and Barack Obama favorite of young people: WHY?

Ron Paul and Barack Obama

In a mock Presidential Primary 2008 election held by Phi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society…the results have shown that young people (students) choose Ron Paul and Barack Obama as favorite.

Now why would most votes go to these two but not in a Miami Herald poll with 800 sample voters?

In this mock, Barack Obama got 49 percent of the votes for the Democratic mock primary and Ron Paul won the Republican’s mock primary with 27 percent of the votes.

Would it be possible that these younger people get more of their news online where there is more free speech than mainstream media?

    I’ll tell you why. It’s because the tired politics of Clinton, McCain, Huckabee and company is a product of the Vietnam era baby-boomers. No generation has been more complacent to the destruction of our individual liberties than this generation. The sooner this generation retires from politics en masse, the sooner we can get about redefining America back to its true nature; a land of freedom and prosperity… not some right-wing / left-wing collusion of a bible-toting neo-con quasi-european-welfare police state.

    Young people see nothing but debt and new wars as a future. I bet Florida would still consider McCain presidential even if he “straight talks” about a military draft given their retiree demographics.

    I saw one recent Zogby poll that measured which candidates did better in various demographics. It said that Ron Paul “dominated” among Florida voters under 30.
