What a pin in the backsides for all you Nintendo Wii gamers, the latest news is that Civilization Revolution Wii version has been put on hold.
Civilization’s multi-platform console reboot which is known as Civilization Revolution has been put on hold which many of you will be pretty peed off about, apparently 2K Games are concentration on getting it out for the next gen consoles such as the Xbox 360 and PS3 and even the DS version which is still on track.
All three versions are set and expected sometime this spring. If you are annoyed about Civilization Wii-volution being put on hold please vent your anger out in the comment area below.

Couldn’t care less. Wouldn’t have got it for my DS or 360 never mind they Wii. Those the next gen consoles that are currently getting bought by people that can’t get hold of a Wii anyway?
HAHA, what a joke (lookin at you bob). This is a game that wouldn’t be purchased in high numbers by Wii-tards … they’re too busy waving their wands at the Nintendo64-esce graphics of Wii sports.
Fanboy chatter aside, this is a title for so-called “hardcore” gamers. Wii owners are more interested in Rock-Band type party games, not one-player stategy games.
I think the idea of only having two categories of gamers is hilarious. You’re either a n00b, casual type gamer, or a hardc0r3, head-shottin, DDR lovin hardcore gamer.
I’ve been playing RTS and Turn-based games for the past 11 years on the PC. As far as console gaming is concerned I did not go past the Super Nintendo Console, but on the PC, I’ve played with quad-cores that have tons of RAM to spare with top-notch video cards, and I have to say… it is the game-play that makes a game great - not the graphics. Sure it looks nice and we might look and say “WOW” at the pretty graphics, but what makes a game is the underlining game-play.
I never liked the newer consoles because of their controllers. I could never get my hands around them that well. I did have an easy time with a keyboard and mouse though; whether it be for a RTS, TBS, or RPG. I bought the Nintendo Wii to enjoy games with my whole family, and because the controller were more intuitive. (I did not need 20 fingers to operate them.) Even my parents were able to pick-up and go with the Wii. My dad was always interested in playing an RTS game with me, but he did not want to spend too much time with the mouse. However he loves playing on the Wii.
That said (and me being a veteran Hardcore PC RTS gamer), Civilization Revolution is better suited for the Nintendo Wii than it is for any other gaming console. This is a game that was originally made for the PC’s “Point-and-Click” system. I know tons of PC gamers would love to play this game in the more relaxed environment a Wii provides. Plus you won’t get Carpols from the Wii Remote.
2K… Please put this game back on the Wii!
At whatev… I’m a hardcore PC gamer with a Wii. I would definately play this game on a console, but only the Wii. I’d never play it on the 360 nor the PS3, after playing it on the PC for several years!
By the way… EB Games said there were copies of the Wii version, but that they have been discontinued. Now only used copies are out there. I’m looking for one myself.
Take Care!
