Toshiba and Panasonic double OLED TV life: Much better than LCD

Well it seems Panasonic and Toshiba have cracked it; the two companies are looking into changing all things around by announcing a brand new technology that will in fact double the lifespan of OLED displays.
So for example you will get from the stated 30,000-hour lifespan of Sony’s XEL-1 TV to somewhere that exceeds that of your typical 50,000-hour LCD panel.
The way this works is that Toshiba and Panasonic will use a new metal membrane inside a prototype 20.8-inch panel to move light more efficiently, the proof is in the pudding so we will have to wait and see.
