Sony takes gloves off: PS3 outsold Xbox 360 in PAL territories 3 to 1

It looks like Sony is taking the gloves off and according to David Reeves (SCEE president, CEO); the Sony PS3 outsold Xbox 360 in PAL territories 3 to 1.
They have said that “2008 will be the year that the PlayStation 3 takes the gloves off and makes a nasty dent in the UK games market”.
Although they are only talking Europe, in December just over a million Sony PlayStation 3’s were sold across all PAL territories and around “20-22% of that figure was sold in the UK alone”.

xbox live doesnt piss over psn online at all, everyone ive ever spoken to on either cod or burnout has been decent. All you get on live is people swearing and a subscription fee

I would agree partially. But there are a few things Sony is doing better. Probably the best thing is that they have dedicated servers for their games. R:FOM could support 40 players with little to no lag. Resistance 2 is going to support 60 players all shooting, blowing things up etc. at the same time. LIVE can’t do that.
I’m not going to get into this sales figure debate again, sony don’t have 9 million sales and if you want a website why don’t you check out the fucking sony website it has it all there, just over 6.5 million!
About the dedicated servers for ps3 games thing, this is great for games supported by big companies like EA but the games that aren’t supported by these companies servers simply can’t won’t play as well. With LIVE all games have full access to microsoft servers which means you won’t have the issue of not picking a game because it doesn’t have dedicated servers
Johnnyb, im not sure (because i havent checked) but iknow what happens quite frequantly is that people confuse worldwide salses with sales in a local region. thatmight be the problem.
and Breaker. seriously, im pro ps3, why do you have to go attacking me with statistics. and im prety sure Gears has sold more than 6 million. CDO4 probably has aswell since it nicked halo off the most played online throne.
anyway, everone who says the ps3 has shhit games compared to 360 has too little experiance to judge. there are many titles such as uncharted, rachet and clank and folklore which demolish their 360 counterparts.
uncharted > Tomb Raider Legend (by a huge margin)
Folklore > Blue Dragon
R&C > …i cant even think of any 360 title that is in R&C’s terotory, feel free to correct me on that.
i see it being highly possible for the PS3 to take off this year. with more price cuts on the horison and the PS3 sales becomming profitable(took longer for the PS2!) 2008 looks to be a great year t oown sonys little giant…
and oh yeah, Little Big Planet!!
