Sony takes gloves off: PS3 outsold Xbox 360 in PAL territories 3 to 1

It would finally appear that now that Microshaft have resolved the build quality, the replacement EggsBox’s that were factored into the equation of new sales now show a true reflection of sales.

Coupled with the move from HD DVD to Blu-Ray by Warner and a better library of games for the PS3 and gamers are now starting to realise where the games industry is going!!!

It’s a pity Microshaft did not realise the commitment to HD gaming that Sony has from the onset….

Most games currently out on PS3 are sub par. The games are expensive and most people are disapointed to see them being so bad.

Going forward, most new games are getting delayed or cancelled on the PS3 platform whilst the developers & publishers rush to Xbox360 & Wii.

How can Sony turn the tide? It’s too late, the product has been going no where for quite a while and it has lost its new shiny gadget image. Most people associate PS3 as a loosing product so that stigma isnt going to help. Backward compatibility is gone and the online Home is a no show. So who cares now about PS3? Its yesterdays news…

Everybody else outside of the USA knows that the PS3 is a far superior console. and thats why sales of the PS3 outside the US, are beating that of the 360. PS3 has sold more consoles in it’s first year, than microsoft sold in a year and a half. Games are coming out already for the PS3 that look far better
in comparison to 360 games.(you know what ones they are, so i dont need to mention them. you’ve seen them we all know you have. aint they pretty.) Sorry
i went off on 1 there. Anyway, 2008 is PS3′s year, we got loads of quality games coming out, far more than 360 got, and these are top quality franchises
like MGS4,Final Fantasy 13, Killzone 2, Haze to name a few, Oh and home is coming my friend, be patient, you cannot rush something of that magnitude, or it will be shlt. To end my little
rant i just wanna say that as 3rd party developers start to perfect their skills with ps3, and realize what they can actually do with the console, you’ll find more and more exclusive games

Yes omen it’s all the “STUPID developers” fault!!!! lol. I don’t see how it’s all going to be over once MGS4 comes out??? Sony have a 6 million user base compared to xbox’s 18 million, even if they sell one to every user, that is nothing compared to xbox’s catalogue of triple A titles that have sold way past 6 million each.

And also what is the deal with MGS4 releasing a seperate game for multiplayer??? You would think they could easily fit that into their big blu ray disk? Talk about being desperate for cash! Xbox has the exclusive rights to GTA4 Episodes also, GTA is the biggest games franchise in the world

It’s not separate to purchase johnny, it on a separate disk. that just means good things for mgs4 cos the game must be massive and oh so detailed. oh
and in regards to the GTA4 episodes downloads, their not exclusive to 360 u just cant download them on the psn. simply because their already on that lovely big blu ray. couldnt fit it on a dvd. check your facts out.

People keep forgetting the 360 has been out longer than the PS3. And only third party games that are multi platform get canceled

The Metal Gear series is not nearly as relevant as it once was. Look at the decline in sales over its life. Now couple that with a lower install base in the Ps3, and you have a serious dissappointment on your hands.

And using M$, or Microshaft in place of Microsoft was never funny, and speaks volumes more of your ignorance than anything of the company you are attempting to bash.

ps3 is 62 weeks into its life and according to vgcharts has sold at the same rate as the xbox360 62 weeks into its life. in the last 5weeks its sold faster and is actually nearly 1million units more and rising!!

about 20% of the xbox console sales are due to people buying another one because their original died…i personally know half a dozen people who did that (before microsoft increased the warranty) dont get me wrong , the xbox 360 is an awesome machine too. i have one and a ps3. i enjoy using both of them. just that it gets me when people say that the ps3 is dead when its sold just under 9.4million units – more than the xbox360 (at this point in its life) and rising.

what titles have been cancelled? 2 or 3? and if youre refering to the THQ titles theyve been cancelled from ALL platforms.

who cares about backward compatiblity, ive had a ps3 for nearly a year and not played a single ps2 game. and im sure many other people arent bothered either. if u want to play a ps2 game then stick it in a ps2! if it is a big deal then buy the 60/80gb ps3 version.

over the next few months theres several big exclusive titles on the ps3…and of course Home aswell. The price of the ps3 will gradually come down more and more titles are being released all the time, it can only mean an increase in sales. Warner Bros switching to Blu ray exclusivly will be another factor… end of the day it will be very hard to kill the ps3. sony have deep deep pockets. they kept the very dead minidisc alive for 20 years. theyre certainly goin to do everything they can to keep the ps3 going!

@johnnyb. According to nexgenwars.com, the 360 has sold just under 17mil and the PS3 just under 8mil. So i would say your a fanboy by bumpbing up 360′s sales by a million and pushing down the PS3′s by two million. Anyway, this year there are barely any good exclusives for the 360.

MGS4 includes online. they are two games bundled together.

Jesus, MGS 4 is very relevant, more than any of the others, its the exlusive equivelant of halo 3 except its underhyped unlike halo 3 which is an overhyped piece of turd, any cheap ass that cheaped out on a 360 must have cheaped out on their tv and not have a HD one, because i played halo 3 on a 37 inch tv and it looked almost blurry. Also to johhny b, your 18 million user base is probably a bit lower considering the failure rate and everyone having to buy 2 or 3 360′s. If you havent noticed microsoft is feeling the burn right now then you are clearly not looking for faults with the 360 you MS fanboys.
Its a shame 360 was rushed to the market and turned out to be a piece of Sh!t break down console because it could have been so much better.

To the rest of you guys just type in xbox or ps3 sales and you will see that this guy is a bullshitter. Xbox have 18 million and 10 LIVE subscribers and to the guy that said that is because people are buying 2 or 3, if you did you research you would know that any faulty unit is replaced for free and covered for 3 years instead of the previous 1 year.

Check out the wikipedia site to see the sales of consoles games. Xbox have 19 over the million mark with halo getting 8.1 million whereas ps3 have 2 games, rfom (2million) and motorstorm

to johnnyb, yeh extending the warantee great, and whats the chances you get back the console you sent away for repair. How long will the one they sent you last? How long do you go without your console when it breaks? If it were a decent console none of these things would be an issue.

You don’t you keep your hard drive and send off the console, the majority of people get the new one with the new hardware that don’t have the overheating issue, well that’s what I got but later upgraded to the elite. It’s no longer an issue for new buyers although I’m sure backwards compatibility will be for many ps3 users

DUDE YOU ARE STUPID, so you havent seen an elite RROD? why isnt it a problem for new buyers? the only thing they are changing is the motherboard as far as im aware, it doesnt change the fact its still gonna overheat, obviously they are trying to reduce the risks. Also they dont send you a new console after you send them yours, they just send you one they have repaired. Also anyone who gets a ps3 without backwards compatibility and is bothered about it will just need to leave their ps2 plugged in, they look better played on ps2 anyway.

I would agree partially. But there are a few things Sony is doing better. Probably the best thing is that they have dedicated servers for their games. R:FOM could support 40 players with little to no lag. Resistance 2 is going to support 60 players all shooting, blowing things up etc. at the same time. LIVE can’t do that.

I’m not going to get into this sales figure debate again, sony don’t have 9 million sales and if you want a website why don’t you check out the fucking sony website it has it all there, just over 6.5 million!

About the dedicated servers for ps3 games thing, this is great for games supported by big companies like EA but the games that aren’t supported by these companies servers simply can’t won’t play as well. With LIVE all games have full access to microsoft servers which means you won’t have the issue of not picking a game because it doesn’t have dedicated servers

anyway, everone who says the ps3 has shhit games compared to 360 has too little experiance to judge. there are many titles such as uncharted, rachet and clank and folklore which demolish their 360 counterparts.

uncharted > Tomb Raider Legend (by a huge margin)
Folklore > Blue Dragon
R&C > …i cant even think of any 360 title that is in R&C’s terotory, feel free to correct me on that.

i see it being highly possible for the PS3 to take off this year. with more price cuts on the horison and the PS3 sales becomming profitable(took longer for the PS2!) 2008 looks to be a great year t oown sonys little giant…
