The Bucket List Premiere Hits London

With the tragic news of Heath Ledger’s passing the European premiere of The Bucket List, a movie about death, had an understandably subdued atmosphere. Stars Morgan Freeman and a tight-lipped Jack Nicholson made an appearance with director Rob Reiner.

Reiner, when asked about Heath Ledger, said,

“It’s unbelievably sad. I’m reminded when I directed Stand By Me with River Phoenix, he also died at a very young age. I remember the feeling I had then that it’s so tragic and sad that somebody that age with that kind of talent should be cut short. It brought those feelings back up for me.”

Super-talented Morgan Freeman, who was Ledger’s co-star in the upcoming The Dark Knight, was clearly devastated by the news,

“It’s a tragic accident, he was really talented.”

When asked about Ledgers performance as The Joker, Freeman replied, “I haven’t seen any clips of the film but I’m dying, dying to see what he did.”

The Bucket List follows the story of two men who discover they have cancer and so decide to see out their final days living life to the fullest by Skydiving, driving racing cars and seeing the wonders of the world.

Many are thrilled at the prospect of two heavyweight actors working together and the film is proof that it was a meeting of the minds. The popularity of the film was obvious in the box office numbers, but unfortunately the film was overlooked by the Oscars. Shame on them!

Check out the film in your local theater soon, you won’t be disappointed.
