Burnout Paradise PS3 vs 360
This kind of video really is a hot topic debate and one which some gamers have had enough of, but Game Trailers have felt they should post an Xbox 360 vs Sony PS3 video that is a little more in-depth.

The video below shows a comparison of Burnout Paradise, you get to see the Sony PS3’s HDMI and component compared to the Xbox 360’s VGA and component. In theory the HDMI should be better as it’s known in the electronics industry to be the better connection.

The comparison does look good, but the game moves very fast and makes it hard to capture the same footage.

Wow, the PS3 version looks so washed out and bland compared to the 360 version. I couldn’t speculate whether this is because of reduced texture memory or less shaders.

  2. chris says:

Wow, wish they would switch the settings on the PS3 so it will get rid of the white wash effect.

  3. I have both versions side-by-side. Both running on LCD/HDMI. The PS3 version runs smoother and clearer with no lag online. The 360 version runs horribly online when the room is full. Both with a FiOs 20meg connection. This article is completely wrong. What they don’t tell you is that the game video above is not running in HD and was not captured in HD. It’s just XBox fanboy propaganda.

    Goodbye HD-DVD. Goodbye 360.

  4. SmilingAssassin says:

    Goodbye 360?
You are a complete fool if you think BluRay is superior to digital downloads?
I will never own an HD DVD or a BluRay player.
Hard Drive space is cheap and streaming media anywhere through my house over a server is way cooler than walking around a piece of plastic to stick in a machine. Especially when they will change that plastic format in another 6-10 years again and ask you to purchase all your movies over again.

  5. MDK says:

Are these comparisons ran with the same TV on the same settings?? If not WTF did you run the comparison for. Just for the record the PS3 version looks much sharper.

    @ Smiling Assasin.
How could you possibly think that everyone wants to digitally download every film they like?? I for one would like a case and inlay with a disk. It makes the film more “complete” to me. And I like to gawk at my collection of films on a stand so I can decide which one I want.
Can I ask you …do you pay for your digitally downloaded films?

  6. Charles says:

The change from DVD to These HD formats is not as compelling a change as VHS was to DVD. Why should I but a Blu-Ray or HD-DVD when I can buy an upconverting DVD player and it shows just fine. Really digital download is the way to go because I know so many people that use the internet to download music, videos, Movies, TV shows, and more. And they are not using the 360 or any system to do that just plain old internet.

  7. bd says:

Man you freaks come out of no were this article has nothing to do with blu-ray or hd-dvd so take your opinions to the proper location.

  8. MDK says:

    @ Charles
You said “digital download is the way to go because I know so many people that use the internet to download music, videos, Movies, TV shows”.

What about the rest of the population who you don’t know??

    @ bd

Don’t get stressed. The big news, if you are into HD at the moment, is the HD war so give us a break. I like to argue about it, whatever the thread. Out of interest - what have you got to say about the article as you did’nt exactly say much in you’re last post…infact … you said nothing relevant about it at all. Or do you just try to divert people to their “proper location”?

    @MDK & BD

OK if you were paying attention to the replies you would have realized I was really talking to “SmilingAssassin”. Who happens to be the first one to go of topic. So why are you pointing me out. Do I have to spell out everyone I’m talking to? I thought that people here had enough sense to realized I’m following a thought pattern as you read through the replies this will become evident.

  10. Charles says:

As for the camparisons since you really want me to talk about it. 360 always has the better graphics so why should I care.
