Oscar Nominations: Cate Blanchett favorite, Keira Knightley shortlisted

With the 80th Academy Awards set for next month Cate Blanchett seems to be the favourite so far.

It’s reported that Cate has been nominated in the best actress and best supporting actress categories, for Elizabeth, I’m Not There respectively and The Golden Age.

While Cate is favourite Keira Knightley has been snubbed by the Academy Award shortlisters even though she picked up recognition at the Baftas and the Golden Globes.

Telecast, producer Gil Cates announced today that The 80th Academy Awards will be hosted by Jon Stewart.

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2007 will be presented on Sunday, February 24, 2008, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Centre and will be televised live by the ABC Television Network.
