Guitar Hero franchise racks up $1 billion in sales

Activision wants to share the great news with everybody, and that is that the whole of the Guitar Hero franchise has now passed $1 billion in sales. Over 14 million games have in North America alone; however you have to remember that Activision has not earned all that money themselves.

Red Octane started the Guitar Hero franchise up before selling to Activision six months before Guitar Hero I debuted. This figures does not include downloads of the new Guitar Hero III, so if you think £10 million in only ten weeks is a good indication that there is still a lot of money to account for in this huge franchise.
