£1199 MacBook Air: love Apple’s new mac, Why Wait?
Every year I love to buy new computers and this year with the recent launch of the MacBook Air for just £1199 ($1799 on U.S. store) it is calling to me. Apple’s new Mac Air packs a lot of features for what I see as a small price, the 13 inch 1.6Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor model features Built-in 802.11n Wi-Fi2 and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, 80GB 4200-rpm PATA hard drive and 2GB of memory.
While the hard drive is on the slow side, the MacBook Air is nearly as thin as your index finger and with all Apple products it looks really stylish. In this small form factor you also get a large multi-touch trackpad (much like my iPhones) and a full-size keyboard.
I am very close to buying one, but as the hard drive is very slow I am thinking of paying the extra money (£829 or $1299 on U.S. store) for the model with a 64GB solid state drive and a 1.8Ghz processor.
The problem is how does a 64GB SSD and a slightly better processor make up for such a large price increase.

Light and small - will do all that I need to do in my business - creates a stir, has a feel-good factor which is vital for business confidence.
The geeks can keep their beige boxes with wires sticking out, I’ll go for the Air.
I don’t even like Macs and I’m interested in this… Cause you can always dual-boot Windows too…
