Bionic Eye – What do you think?

A new contact lens called the “Bionic Eye” has been developed that contains circuts, LEDs and electrical components that can enable us mere human to have super-human vision. This news comes from researchers at the University of Washington and some of the applications are as follows:
Surf the Web
Be used for people with visual impairments,
Immersive video games.
The lenses at present have only been tested on rabbits and there has been no negative effects, but electrical circuits consist of toxic chemicals, but they have been built from tiny layers of metal. Scientists are however, trying to create a basic version which will be available in the future.
I do have mixed feelings about these lens, to start I do like the thought of putting anything in your eye, but they need to find out whether the lens would be safe for humans. Personally I don’t think that i would want to have a Bionic Eye, the thought makes me cringe, but on the other hand it could be a good way of improving sight for many people.
