Sony PS3 YLOD
Everyone knows about the Xbox 360 RROD (red ring of death) thanks to some 33% of games consoles getting this problem, now we have proof of the Sony PS3 death with a so called YLOD.

The video below shows a Playstation 3 with yellow lights, it sounds like a hard drive gone bad to me from the clicking noise as that’s what I have had with many PC hard drives.

Every product gets faults, but it’s just what percentage of that product that counts. We have heard around 1% of PS3’s have problems and why shouldn’t they, but this is nothing compared to the well known and joked about world-wide RROD.

In the case of the gamer that made this video below, his console has already been taken away by Sony.

Update:
raza514 made a good point, the sound is not coming from the ps3….it was there before he turned it on.

    Cadega? WTF?

No, StreamMyGames lets you play any PC game on the Playstation 3. Gears of War, Halo, Crysis, Supreme Commander, Bioshock, you name it. The gameplay I saw from Crysis on the PS3 was actually fairly good, without any noticeable lagging. Crysis on a $400 console? That’s amazing.

    Let’s see the 360 do that…

I would have to agree with Sam, How long before Microsoft puts a stop to it? There is no way they would want news like this floating around the web.

And if this is just your computer running the game why not just run it straight from your computer to TV? Why route through the ps3 at all? If you can run crysis I am sure your video card has video out.

Plus would you be able to map the six axis buttons accordingly?
Sorry for all the questions but I am going to get a Ps3 and these is good stuff to know. Playing Civilization on my big TV with Bluetooth mouse and keyboard would be awesome (I never could get my X800 to display right on my TV and I have video out component so that kind of answers my second question)

Chris go find out what cadega is before you post your ignorant comments. Ps3 can barely produce a decent port from the xbox on it’s system so I’d actually like to see them have a go at this. Maybe they should focus more on making a few games of their own instead of being so desperate they need to think of ways to steal microsofts.

This works both ways because there’s nothing stopping someone from designing a program to play ps3 games on a pc with a blu ray drive except of course the legality of the whole thing.

  4. Chris... says:

You could try that Scott, but I’d guess that it would be easier to play with a mouse and keyboard. Any wireless/USB accessory is fine.

Lol, so I’m not the only big Civilization fan here. I’d like to try that out too, playing on a 42″ HDTV *drools

  5. Scott M. B. says:

I heard COD4 and burnout paradise look the same on both systems.

So it’s hard to tell what johnnyb is trying to say, I think it sounds like “oh crap all my Microsoft shares are losing value”.

To quote you “Ps3 can barely produce a decent port from the Xbox on its system so I’d actually like to see them have a go at this. Maybe they should focus more on making a few games of their own instead of being so desperate they need to think of ways to steal Microsoft’s.”

Fist off the stream my game program is not Sony’s as I am sure you know.
So you just sound like an idiot fan boy and second see my first comment about how ports look the same. You just want to bitch or be a bitch either way, not cool Johnny.

And was the last part of your riveting write up supposed to make people mad because I am sure that will happen and all the power to them kind of like playing mame or snes emulators no?

  6. I GUESS U PPL DONT READ says:

THIS TIME I’LL PUT IT IN CAPS…SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME, HES NOT BSing….HAPPENED TO ME AS SOON AS I GOT CoD 4….I WAS PISSED AND HAD TO TRY AND GET A NEW HARD DRIVE (DIDN’T WORK) SO I HAD TO GET A NEW PS3

  7. Chris... says:

wow, you’re great at making up stories. In case you haven’t noticed, it’s already been confirmed that the problem only happens when you take out the HDD -.-

  8. johnnyb says:

Scott it’s hard to understand what the fuck you’re going on about? I have shares with microsoft??? Trying to make you mad?? And bitching either way because I haven’t read your first comment?

You posted that comment after me so how could I be arguing with you if I haven’t read it?? What the fuck are you are you saying, you don’t make sense!!!

“I heard COD4 and burnout paradise look the same on both systems. ” ………..Ok you’ve clearly won the argument lol

  9. Scott M. B. says:

Were you not saying “Ps3 can barely produce a decent port from the Xbox on its system”
And a port being a game? No?

And it is not that you’re arguing with me, you just seem to be arguing with anyone.
Oh about the first comment I meant in that specific post about the ports, sorry should have cleared that up for you.

As for the Microsoft shares I just figured anyone who gets that worked up about something must have some serious stakes, E.G. shares or employment why else would you get so worked up about this?

Now why not reply to some of my points,
Stream my game is not Sony property so how are they stealing games?

Stealing bluray games on the computer is the same as stealing ds games, nes games etc.. so what is your point?

Last what does Cadega have anything to do with anything, I don’t know anything about Linux but YDLinux has a version just for Ps3 wouldn’t that be the way one would go?

  10. johnnyb says:

linux will be using cadega to run these games on ps3 but ps3 has restrictions on these libraries because they can also be used to hack so that means the games will be a far cry from the 60fps that these games are capable of.

“Stealing bluray games on the computer is the same as stealing ds games, nes games etc.. so what is your point?” It’s pretty clear what my point is, I was referring to a previous post, enough of the stupid questions.

If you want to stream these games go on ahead but you won’t be helping ps3 buy paying for microsoft games.
