Everyone knows about the Xbox 360 RROD (red ring of death) thanks to some 33% of games consoles getting this problem, now we have proof of the Sony PS3 death with a so called YLOD.
The video below shows a Playstation 3 with yellow lights, it sounds like a hard drive gone bad to me from the clicking noise as that’s what I have had with many PC hard drives.
Every product gets faults, but it’s just what percentage of that product that counts. We have heard around 1% of PS3’s have problems and why shouldn’t they, but this is nothing compared to the well known and joked about world-wide RROD.
In the case of the gamer that made this video below, his console has already been taken away by Sony.
Update:
raza514 made a good point, the sound is not coming from the ps3….it was there before he turned it on.

SirLardShip , if someone was cutting the power to the PS3 then the Red standby Light would go out , And Ivan_PSP , don`t be a COMPLETE ignoramus and think that there is no such thing as a failed PS3 unit in this world .
Whats wrong with you kids? all the guy is doing is sharing that PS3 has its own form of RROD. Nothing more! Stop crying about it!
The 4 posters above me… you earn the Retard Award
That same exact thing happened to me….Right when COD4 came out I was pissed…..Had to order a new hard drive….still didn’t fix the problem…So I had to get a new PS3
WELL SAID SUPERDYNAMITE!
Propaganda shit like this only sparks dumbass hearsay. “forget the RROD”? Poor choice of words. To take an unheard and questionable issue and spout it to something so loudly without research is dumb as hell. Had it been as bad of an issue like it is with the 360’s RROD then it should have been addressed as such, but instead you use some questionable video of a ps3 with a yellow light, without even a description of the problem by the guy in the video, and use it to bring forth some “FORGET RROD! PS3 HAS YLOD!!” crap
Electronics are prone to failure no doubt, and the fact that the ps3 has a generally low failure rate is a testament to what sony did when they designed it. However this doesnt qualify as news. Its probably just some fanboy trying to make a point. And failing miserably.
This is just some really sad attempt to start some shit and sadly, its working. Mission accomplished for you then eh?
Yeah almost the same propaganda to spout unrealistic statistics from the planet Bullshit , there`s way more PS3 failiures than is admitted to , happens to the best of us
does the fool know how to reset the system by holding both the reset and power for 10 seconds.
How is this proof of anything other than proving that the PS3 has a yellow LED? Regardless of the fact this is not even close to the RROD (most PS3 owners are on their 1st one, most 360 owners are on their 11th one) you don’t know what “torture” this machine was put through to cause this error.
You worry when everyone you speak to has had at least one broken console, a la the 360, not when some 360 fanboy has blocked all the airholes took a strong magnet to the HDD and then tried to start it (how do you know what they did to get this?)
For all you know a yellow LED means HDD failure, for all you know you might be able to re-create the same error light by removing the HDD and trying to start up the console. What does a PS3 do when you start it without a HDD inserted? I don’t know, I’m not going to try, but maybe these people did, maybe it gives a yellow light and shuts down again…
Well obviously he isn`t a fool as it says the unit has been picked up by Sony for repair , that means he has called Tech support and they would have Ironed out any Idiotic things like that , Jesus , you guys tend to type without thinking first .
i think that happens wen the HDD is not install.
