Sony PS3 YLOD
Everyone knows about the Xbox 360 RROD (red ring of death) thanks to some 33% of games consoles getting this problem, now we have proof of the Sony PS3 death with a so called YLOD.

The video below shows a Playstation 3 with yellow lights, it sounds like a hard drive gone bad to me from the clicking noise as that’s what I have had with many PC hard drives.

Every product gets faults, but it’s just what percentage of that product that counts. We have heard around 1% of PS3’s have problems and why shouldn’t they, but this is nothing compared to the well known and joked about world-wide RROD.

In the case of the gamer that made this video below, his console has already been taken away by Sony.

Update:
raza514 made a good point, the sound is not coming from the ps3….it was there before he turned it on.

Fake, PS3 is not like the Xbox 360 cheap. PLAYSTATION 3 will never like that unless the owner makes it do it. No one will ever believe this crap…

      not fake …. lmfao nub

How clearly misinformed you are. You should’ve done your research before you bothered opening your mouth. The solder used to hold the GPU / CPU in place is looking to have been rather cheap. Being one of the afforementioned Ps3 owners, I have experienced this issue; it is not ‘crap’, it is an unfortunately true manufacturing fault.

And before you jump to the gun in attacking Microsoft, actually look up the red ring of death. You’ll find rather quickly that they provided extended warranty, and repaired broken units, free of charge. You might want to reform your opinion as to who the ‘cheap’ company is, considering Sony is not providing support for its customers in this regard.

Oh look a story about a broken PS3 that’s actually just a thinly veiled excuse to carry on the RROD debate, nice job! keep trolling.

  4. raza514 says:

That sound is not comin from ps3….it was there even b4 he turned on the ps3….

  5. Daniel says:

Well spotted raza514, I updated that fact in the post.

  6. Daniel says:

Steve, I am just showing that the PS3 is not perfect, although I do own a PS3 as the 360 got RROD and I did not want to send it back many times like other gamers have.

And for a “RROD debate”, thats not what this is about (this is news of one PS3 gamers problem) you have said that, the fact is there is no debate as RROD is a one side story…it happens a lot.

  7. laurence says:

uno i bet hes bricked his ps3 after sum hack and thats why its not working.

  8. smoothn00dle says:

what this kid has done to my PS3? Do u take the harddisc out?

Someone should put the 40gig model through the reliable test again.

  9. sirlardship says:

he’s getting something to make the noise and somepne to turn off the ps3 when it comes on. what a load of rubbish

  10. 1 PS3 out of 1,000,000 doesn’t work.

    7 out of 10 XBox 360 don’t work.

This article is nothing more than XBox fanboy propaganda.

    • Superdynamite killa says:

the statistics arnt that high and at least a 360 is affordable with affordable games unlike playshit3 with £300 per console and about £50 for a game ffs it has virtually no exclusives

360 is better no matter how much rrod it gets
