Sears And Kmart Recall My First Kenmore Play Stoves

My First Kenmore Play Stoves have been recalled by Sears and Kmart after it was found that the stoves pose a tip-over hazard. Around 17,000 units have been recalled after a metal bracket connecting the door to the stove was found to be the cause of a possible tip-over when the door is opened.

There was one reported case of the tip-over which resulted in a child being badly bruised. The My First Kenmore Stove was sold at Sears and Kmart stores nationwide from September 2007 until November 2007 for around $100. The stoves were made in Taiwan.

Customers have been advised to remove and discard the bracket that connects the door to the stove to eliminate the hazard. You can visit the firms website for updated assembly construction.
