New UltraBattery to end Hybrid cars: plug-in all-electrics are the future?

Having a fuel efficient Hybrid car is a great idea but there is still one major flaw, and that is that they still run on either a gas or diesel engine. Many people still believe that plug-in all-electrics are the future, but this has one huge setback, and that is with the batteries as they still do not produce enough energy and hold enough charge to be practical enough to do away with our green house gas vehicles.
However this could be about to change with news of a new UltraBattery, this new battery is clever in the way that is mixes technology from a supercapacitor and a standard lead acid battery. Although this does not sound all that clever, many people see this as a huge leap forward in battery technology as the life cycle of a battery will increase 4 fold and it produces 2 x more power, and the best part is that it will be 70% less expensive than standard Ni-MH cells.
The UltraBattery could even find its way into production vehicles as the battery has passed the 100,000 mark, so this could spell the end for the Hybrid Vehicle as the UltraBattery would be the perfect solution to plug-in all-electric cars.
