The crash of the Boeing 777 at London’s Heathrow airport yesterday has got many people asking the question as to what caused the crash. A number of reports also claim that the pilot only has 30 seconds to save the lives of his passengers and crew. According to Sky News Sources, they believe that is was a total loss of power that was to blame for the Boeing 777 to crash land.
Peter Burkill, the captain of the plane only realized that he had no control of the engines just 500ft above from the ground, so he had 30 seconds to try and bring the plan down as safely as he could. Upon his approach Burkil tried to apply more thrust, but the engines did not respond. The pilot only had one choice, and that was to land on the grass just short of the runway.
Many people including UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown praised to Peter Burkill’s skills in bringing the plane down safely and saving all 136 passengers on board.
