Paula Abdul to perform at the Super Bowl XLII
It has been reported that American Idol judge Paula Abdul is to sing her new single, produced by fellow judge Randy Jackson, at the annual American Football extravaganza Super Bowl XLII in Arizona on February 3rd.

A source said has said that “It’s not clear whether she will perform before the game or at half-time, but word is she will sing a new song that is slated as the first single on fellow Randy’s new album, ‘Music Club Vol. 1′ which is a duet with him. It’s going to be a very ‘American Idol’ game this year with the latest Idol winner, Jordin Sparks, singing the national anthem before kick-off and show host Ryan Seacrest acting as master of ceremonies.”

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are to headline this year’s musical interlude, while Mary J. Blige and Maroon 5 will perform at the Super Bowl concerts leading up to the game.

Previous Super Bowl headline acts have included Prince and the duet between Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake.
