Samsung 128GB solid state hard drive now official

This is the Samsung 128GB solid state hard drive which has now been made official, although the 64GB drives are still hard to acquire.

This is a MLC (multi-level cell)-based SSDs and Samsung has moved up a gear with the 128GB drive, although we are hearing today that EMC are to launch 146GB solid-state drives.

The Samsung 128GB SSD will start shipping in the first half of 2008 and although we do not know the price, I am sure it will be a lot.
