Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows To Become Two Movies?

It has recently been reported that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be split into two movies. It seems this idea is very popular as the final book has a lot going on and two movies would mean that the film would stay faithful to the book.
Empireonline spoke to Warner Bros to try and get them to confirm the story, although they simply said, “no decision has been made about Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows“.
Since there is no script for the film yet, it seems logical that there haven’t been any decisions made. Due to the WGA strike, Steve Kloves hasn’t begun writing the script yet so a desicion can’t really be made as they don’t know what they’re working with.
I imagine it would take a lot of editing to get the last film to run at 150 minutes, but wouldn’t the material be spread too thinly if there were two movies? It’s up to the director to make this work, and I’m sure he’s very capable.
Would you like two Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows movies? What do you think?

in all fairness i think the last set of potter movies did not live up to expectations . this also manifests in other novel turned movie like eragon due to editing in order for them to run for a specific period of time i say splitting it in two parts is a great idea
2 parts or 1 looooooong! I don’t want the 7th and final part to be ruined. There’s too much important things going on. 2 parts is a great idea.
I think that splitting the seventh movie is a fantastic idea. It’s the last book and being a dedicated Harry Potter fan, I would be very disappointed, as many others would be, if the movie didn’t live up to the book. I’ll be happy to wait for two!
I think splitting it into 2 movies would be a good idea only if they left the 1st part of the 2 movies at a good established ending. However, one extra long movie wouldn’t bother me either. I love Harry Potter so whatever happens should be for the best and live up to the hype that the final book caused and the expectation of its fans.
I think that Harry Potter SHOULD be in two movies, but knowoe wants to wait for the second part of the movie. If they make it a the same time and show the second one a week latter, instead of making us wait about a year, Year in a half.
Since it is a long book, they should split it into 2 movies, but as Brittney said they shouldn’t make us wait a whole year for the second part to come out. They should also know that movies don’t have to be 2.5 hrs long. They should cram as much of the book as possible in 3 hours and that would be the 1st part. Then they should make the 2nd part and have it be released about a month or 2 after the other one. When the DVD comes out, they should combine the 2 parts in 1 package so we, the viewers, don’t have to pay $30 each for 2 seperate DVDs
