Elijah Wood may be the best hobbit around, but what’s in the future for Frodo? In a recent interview with MTV, Elijah Wood spoke about the upcoming movie version of Tolkien’s The Hobbit, and how there may be two movies in the works.
The Lord of The Rings star said,
“I haven’t spoken to [Peter Jackson] directly about it [but] I’ve e-mailed him, and as far as I know the two films that they’re doing, one will be ‘The Hobbit’ and another will take place between the 60 years that happened between ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings,’”
I think it makes sense to do two movies, but the second movie has the potential to upset fans – Jackson and his team will be creating a whole new period of history. How will this fare with the fans?
Wood has revealed that Frodo may not appear in the hobbit as it’s Bilbo’s story, but a sequel could bring the old characters back together. Wood has said that he’d love to return, “If I’m asked to go back and revisit that character and it makes sense, I would love to. I would absolutely love to”.
