We all know that hybrids are the rage and excitement at the moment, and this is definitely the rage at the Detroit Auto Show. They have the sexy and friendly Fisker Automotive plug-in hybrid for $80,000 that should be due for delivery in 2009.
Let me tell you a little about the stunning Fisker Karma pictured above, this hybrid car can do 50 miles before the gas engine takes over to charge the lithium-ion batteries, it can do an amazing 150mph top end and do 0-60mph in 5.8 seconds.
The next in line is the AFS Trinity Power Corporation and their 150mpg plug-in hybrid XH-150 SUV pictured below, just so you know the XH stands for Extreme Hybrid. This hybrid vehicle works where the XH-150’s powertrain uses ultra-capacitors not gas for very quick acceleration, the XH-150 SUV can do 0-60mph in 6.9 seconds; top end speed is only 87mph.
