Confirmed at Last: Toyota’s plans to launch plug-in hybrid by 2010

Well now all that has changed as at the Detroit Auto Show, Katsuaki Watanabe confirmed Toyota has plans to launch a plug-in hybrid by 2010.
Now that we have a date this is great for people who have environmental concerns, this could make more people move to hybrid and get the benefit of around 100 mpg.
Healthy competition in green autos is just what the consumers need to get better prices.
