Buddy Holly’s widow Maria Elena launches Peggy Sue lawsuit

It has been reported that Maria Elena who is Buddy Holly’s widow has launched a lawsuit to stop the publication a memoir written by the woman who inspired his song ‘Peggy Sue’.

It’s said that Peggy Sue Gerron who was married to Jerry Allison claims in her autobiography which is called “Whatever Happened to Peggy Sue?” that Buddy Holly wanted to run away with her.

A letter from Maria Elena lawyers says that “Confusion and tarnishment of Buddy Holly’s name and Mrs Holly’s reputation are likely to result from this unauthorised book.”

Maria Elena who is now 62 married Buddy Holly in 1958.
Buddy Holly sadly died in a plane crash the following year at the age of 22.
