Vandals Cost Car Owners £650 Million Per Year!!

Car Insurance provider Direct Line have undertaken a survey which has revealed that more than two in five drivers have been a victim to vandalism. This has left a bill for the victims of £659 million; this is a rise of £100 million from 2006.
The most common type of vandalism was the paintwork being scratched, the next were broken wing mirrors and smashed windows.
The survey showed that a lot o this vandalism had taken place at night and outside the vehicle owner’s home.
“Car vandalism is a crime which often goes unreported as many victims believe that doing so is a fruitless and frustrating exercise”. Tony Chilcott, head of car insurance at Direct Line, said.
