It has been reported that Gary Barlow is penning a number of tracks for TV show Britannia High, which is being made by ITV and is said to be the British version of High School Musical.
Casting for the drama series which is set in a performing arts school is due to take place through a real-life casting process, which will be broadcast on the station before the series starts.
Youngsters between the ages of 16 and 18 who can sing dance and act can audition for roles on January 12 and 13 at the London Welsh Centre.
Filming on the series is scheduled to start in June, and will be followed by a stage show.
As we all know High School Musical was a TV movie originally made for the Disney Channel which has gone on to achieve phenomenal worldwide success and it’s said that the third instalment will start filming later this year.
Do you think that Britannia High could have the same impact as High School Musical did?

Arlene has already auditioned extensively for this show at many of the larger performing arts schools. The criteria is for youngters who LOOK between the age of 16 - 18 with extravert personalities. I believe some of the cast has been chosen already in this way.
