Will Gran Turismo 5 be the best Sony PS3 driving game ever
It seems like Sony PS3 owners have been waiting a lifetime for the release of Gran Turismo 5, however there is only just over two months to go. So far there is a range of driving games for the PlayStation 3, but most will put them aside once they get their copy of Gran Turismo 5.

If you look at the track record of this great franchise, then Gran Turismo has always won the hearts of PlayStation fans, so has this new incarnation got what it takes to become as good if not better than its predecessors.

As I said in a post before, as yet I have not got a PS3 but I am in the market for one now and my first game will be Assassin’s Creed, however my first driving game will be Gran Turismo 5 and no one will change my mind on that.

Will Gran Turismo 5 be the best Sony PS3 driving game ever?

lol, best driving game on PS3? lmao, it is the BEST DRIVING GAME PERIOD! there is no competion, tell me how many other games are used by professional race car drivers to train? Tell me how many other game studios have such close ties to the car manufacturers (the new nissan was partly designed by the head of polyphony)

Yeah, I’m avidly awaiting the NA release of this game. Absolutely 100% GT addicted!

steve, I’m not arguing GT is and will be a great series but don’t go overboard. Where the hell did you read that GT games are used to train professional drivers. and dont give me you got it from anything ps3 biased. also the part where nissan allowed the head of polyphony, come on now.

Steve is correct. GT is the best racing series ever, no doubt. Reviews and sales show this. Not only is it the best selling racing series ever, but one of the best selling franchises ever. This game sells more than Halo.

    cMAN its actually true.

This game is the best driving simulation game in the world, no questions asked. Sure there are “others” but they dont come close to the level of quality that GT series offers. HAve you seen the newest in car view? its amazingly detailed. And yes the newest prototype concept sports car was designed by Polyphony Digital for Nismo(sports car division of Nissan Motor Sports) and it will be featured in GT5. Also the winners of the Las Vegas Auto Trade show will be featured in the upcoming game.

    cMan…

you probably didnt keep some update news around..

GT is used by pro racer … that’s a truth..

Nissan GTR35 software system is developed by polyphony .. this is said on the official Nissan GTR 35 sites (spec for the car) … man..

if you really dont belive, go read their official site..

but i forgive you.. because there is no other games has done this before.. no wonder you cant imagine that they did it.

Man. This editor is SOOO out of the PS3 gaming loop. You really shouldnt be writing PS3 related articles when you know so very little about the machine and the games.

I purchased GT5 Prologue online with a PSN card, almost two weeks before Xmas. GT5 Prologue is nothing short of amazing, especially with eh GTTV built in, and the showroom stuff they did for Tokyo Car Show - that was way kool.

GT5 isn’t a game. It really is an enthusiasts simulator. There is NOTHING around that comes close to comparing to it. If you have it, you know what I am talking about. If you dont have it, get a Jap account organised, and buy a PSN card - you’ll need the 5,000 yen card.

If you want more details on how to do it, just email me.

@GroverFD If you know so much, why is one of the biggest game sites N4G.com reporting “GT5 will release in Japan on July 2008. “. I would think they are right.

    @GroverFD

Looks like you are confused, your playing the a prequel showcasing the forthcoming Gran Turismo™5…the the full game.

“The real driving simulator that’s sold 50 million units is back: Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) and Polyphony Digital are pleased to announce Gran Turismo™5 Prologue, a prequel title showcasing the forthcoming Gran Turismo™5 for PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) – available both on Blu-ray disc and as a download from PLAYSTATION®Network (PSN) at the end of this year.”

thanks to everyone who pwned cman for me. I’m no sony fanboy, I enjoy a few races of forza 2, but without question, GT PWNS

  15. steve on January 11th, 2008 7:29 pm

@ Daniel, strange, because GT 5:P is released in Japan, it is on my Japan account store, so I will believe that instead of N4G

  16. GroverFD on January 12th, 2008 12:07 pm

To the nuggets that have NFI about GT5 Prologue. Daniel for instance you are an idiot. What did I write? GT5 PROLOGUE, has been out as an OFFICIAL game since two weeks before Xmas in Japan. How do I know? Because my friend at Sony Japan got me a copy (thanks pheon).
Heres a menu pic so you can drool:
    http://www.ps3bits.net/website1/files/homebrew/Misc/Picture%20005.jpg
And here is the R8 - which is not available in the DEMO, and additionally there is a TUN of GTTV stuff available in Prologue that isn’t in the demo. Oh.. as well as 5 tracks, and some 40 cars.

So Daniel, before you sprout off like a turkey make sure you know what you are talking about first.

Btw Daniel - you do remember GT4 Prologue right? It is essentially the same game as the full version with less assets. Thats it. Shows how little you have played this series of games.

  19. God on January 15th, 2008 8:07 pm

GroverFD u r one lucky SOB 4 having prologue already…envy comes to mind.
