Kathy Burke has revealed that she almost died after contracting a superbug following an operation
Kathy was being treated at the London hospital for abdominal and glandular problems when she caught Clostridium difficile.
Kathy said that “I got quite ill last year with loads of stuff. It all happened at once. I had that C.difficile hospital bug that everyone is going on about. It was an experience. There’s not much they can do. They just let you get on with it. It’s a breakdown of the whole immune system.”
Kathy said that she did not blame the NHS and said that “To be fair, I did catch the bug because something else was seriously wrong with me that nobody knew about. My adrenal glands were packing in.
Once they opened me up and operated on me, I was susceptible to lots of other things.”
I visited a hospital the other day in fact it was the maternity department and it was not clean there was blood on the floors and walls in the toilets and the floors in general you could see were not clean.
Yes the ward was very busy at the time but surly a ward where new babies come into the word should be very clean at all times.
With so many superbugs going around in our hospitals at the moment surly they should make more of an effort to clean the wards more.
Instead adults and children are dying everyday from superbugs and this as we know could be prevented it we had cleaner hospitals.
