Today was a big day for India’s biggest car maker as Reuters reports that Tata Motors showed their new Nano car at the 2008 Delhi Motor Show. The whole of the auto industry have been commenting on what is said to be the worlds cheapest car, the price of the Tata Nano has been priced at 100,000 rupees, that’s just $2,500.
Some of the comments that have been coming have been very positive, like how Tata has kept to their promise with the cheap price and the style of it as well. Many people also commented that there is a huge market for vehicles between motorcycles and a small car just like this.
Many people in the industry have also said that this is a piece of history, and that they are delighted that it is an Indian that chooses to lead the way.

Seems like a nice car at 1250 pounds. Brilliant, I would definately go for one if hits the UK.
How I get this dashing car.
it is very cheapest car and looking so good
I will congratulate the Chairman of Tata Group Sh. Ratan Tata ji. for the new product of the TATA Nano car. It is demand for the coming time in india.
Our best wishes are with sh. R. tata
thanks
Its looks very unstable, a toy car to be more precise. I would’nt recommend it on Indian roads. If it’s not the very rash traffic or even the oh so pleasant conditions of the Indian roads, the driver and the passengers shall be gambling with their lives with each rotation of those little chakra’s(wheels). There’s a reason why it’s the cheapest car in the world and I see it now. This Indianised minicooper-cum-swift looking thing looks like it can be taken down by Mr.Tata him-self. The launch of this car is a big day for the Tata’s and many others as it was his big dream … congratulation, it has come true, but if big Industrialist like them really want to make a change please think about the infrastructure of this country first and then the cars that run on it’s roads. There’s a reason you dont see ferrari’s, forget ferrari’s even descent BMW’s (any descent sports car for that matter) on the streets that often or even bikes more than 150cc (even when there are loads of people that can afford them). Whats the point having an Armani with a Rolex and some crimbo shoes when the very underware is stained with dirt and holes.
I think a natural gas conversion/or kit offered for this vehicle would be a benefit for the US market. Just fill the tank up from home instead of waiting in line at Texaco. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Z
A BRILLIANT IDEA FOR A CAR, MY COMPLIMENTS ANY MORE PICS?
it is a wonderful effort put by tata group. definitely i am going to buy it. are they planning to export it may be UK market. wonderful model
What a wonderful breakthough for a rapidly developing country. In our history, the greatest economic strides coincide with improvements in and the availability of transportation to the masses.
good looking and compact and sure this would bring a change in the two wheeler market. It would be great if its technical specifications were available and sure this is gonna hit the market strongly.
