CES 2008: USB 3.0 gets the hands on treatment, 4.8 Gbit/s speeds
By: Mark Chubb | January 10, 2008
Now if you are into speed and we mean fast speeds then the USB 3.0 will become your friend, Engadget got the chance to get their hands on this connector where they compared it with the old 2.0 standard in where they were told it is backward compatible.
The CES 2008 Las Vegas event has had so many little things that are big things when you think about it, this little USB 3.0 connector can give you speeds of up to 4.8 Gbit/s (600 MB/s), the good thing about them is that it is pretty clever as well and in that we mean a powering system which intelligently cuts the juice when you are not using the device.
Only trouble is the USB 3.0 will not be out till around 2010. For more stunning photos please visit the Engadget Gallery.
