On display at the gaming innovation area at CES this year is the Dreamflyer. The Dreamflyer is a lightweight and compact virtual reality flight motion simulator which is designed to enhance the flight simulation experience.
The Dreamflyer uses pilot-led and pilot-induced roll and pitch oscillation which is interpreted by the brain to get the ultimate feeling of flight.
So, how does the Dreamflyer work? Well, it uses the pivot arrangement. This means that the user, wile sitting on the chair, can balance his weight across the axis of the chassis. This balancing creates motions. Under the chair, a sensor captures all of the movements and sends that information to a computer which is packed with simulation software. The software then takes the information and turns them into the results which the user sees on screen.
The Dreamflyer comes with a black powder coated aluminium frame with a replica pilot’s seat. If you fancy turning your hand at being a pilot you can grab one of these for $3000.
