Same Microsoft Game Exclusive to Xbox 360 and PC: not possible

Mark just done a post about Halo Wars and how it will be exclusive to the Xbox 360 just like a lot of games sites say, but we hear this a lot and it’s wrong. One example is Gears of War which is said to be an exclusive Xbox 360 game but it’s also on the PC for millions of PC users to buy the game…is that really an exclusive to the 360.
So when you hear Xbox 360 gamers saying to Sony PS3 owners about their long list of Microsoft games that are exclusive to the 360, they have got to be wrong.
What does exclusive mean really then in the games world, are these games exclusive to the Xbox 360 when they are also on the PC.

This is something that really makes me laugh. I’m always reading comments from 360 fanboys boasting about exclusives like Bioshock and Gears of War and I always point out to them that I own both of those games yet I have no intention of buying a 360. 360 owners seem to be under the impression that because a game sells more on the 360 than the PC it means the PC version doesn’t exist or something. Its nonsense. A game is an exclusive if it is only available on one platform.
The PS3 has far more exclsuives released or in development than the 360. Anyone who disagrees hasn’t got a clue what they are talking about. Here is a list about 100 long of the PS3 exclusives I van find. There are probably more.

To me Gears of War is an exclusive game because it’s a console exclusive. I could care less what is on the PC. If I can’t play it on two of the three consoles (Wii, PS3, and Xbox 360), it’s an exclusive title to me.

That’s retarded. That’s like saying Assassins Creed is 360 exclusive because you only own a 360.
If its on another platform it isnt exclsuive.
Gears of War did come out for PC… a year later.
Either buy a 360 or wait a year + for most games. I don’t want to wait, and I prefer console gaming.
I could hardly wait for 9/25/07 to play Halo 3… I have money, so I am not waiting until 11/22/09 to play it.
BTW, got to laugh at that list of PS3 exclusives, there is a lot of very low quality games not even worth mentioning.
It is an exclusive on console
if it is said that those games are “exclusive”, then yes, i agree, that is incorrect. But if it is said that they are “console exclusive”, then yes, that is correct. I think that is what many sites mean when they say “exclusive” anyway. Because if not, are there any games that are exclusive? (other than of course games that are only on pc, because lets face it, consoles can’t touch what the pc can do with gaming… yet).
Stop being such a bunch of childish whiny hypocrites, if you were a dumb 360 fanboy instead of a dumb Sony fanboy you’d see all your lot trying to gloat over the 2-3 month exclusive deal with UT3 which also came out on P.C. first.
You fanboys are all the same, what makes you think Sony fanboys are any better than 360 fanboys?
The funny thing is i’ve always considered the Wii a console aimed at kids but i hear less moronic fanboy comments from them than i do from you lot.

OK really Product review. Stop with the idiotic nonsense articles. Technically it is not exclusive. But who is the king of PC Software? Microsoft. So Games for Windows and Xbox 360 both are Mircosoft Products. Lets rename them and call them Microsoft Exclusives. I really don’t care about compitition with the PC, it’s like Xbox’s cousin.

Reasons to purchase a 360:
- You prefer the Xbox controller design
- You’re a Halo, Fable, DoA, or Ninja Gaiden fanboy
- You don’t own a PC to play 360 ‘exclusives’
- You mostly like FPSs and prefer controller over keyboard and mouse (or again, you don’t own a PC)
- You like cold rooms (to keep your 360 from overheating)
- Online communities are more important than games
- You rather pay for online game play
- You thrive for danger, RRoD
Reasons to purchase a PS3:
- You prefer the Playstation controller
- You need a heater
- Your a MGS or FF fanboy
- Your a SOCOM, God of War, R&C, or Killzone fanboy
- You own a PC and can already play many 360 ‘exclusives’
- You don’t own a PC (web browser/Linux compatibility)
- You’re a HD movie enthusiast (Bluray)
- You prefer FPSs with keyboard and mouse
- You refuse to pay monthly or annual fees for a game console
- You’re not big on shooters and like a variety of games
- You want to play with UT3 mods (and don’t own a PC)
There are plenty of reasons to purchase either console and plenty of reasons to not purchase either console.
I know over 15 people who are tired of the disc scratching and RRoDs. People who have had enough with the Xbox 360 problems that went out and bought the PS3 because they can still play their favorite games on it; Oblivion, Guitar Hero, & CoD4.
Though, no one has been able to answer this question for me; when you’re 360 has to be sent into MS for repairs, do you get a refund for the downtime on Xbox Live?
