Kelly MacDonald has revealed in a recent interview that she has been left out of the Trainspotting sequel. In the original film, the actress played the role of schoolgirl Diane alongside Ewan McGregor.
According to reports that director Danny Boyle has informed MacDonald she will not be part of it if the film goes ahead.
She commented, “There have been rumours about it over the past few years. I bumped into Danny Boyle a few years ago, he was talking about it and he said Diane is not going to be in the sequel. So that’s fine. Fine. He actually said that. I didn’t bring it up.”
MacDonald isn’t too miffed about the whole thing as she doesn’t even see the point in making a sequel, “I don’t mind. I don’t really see the point in a sequel anyway so it takes the decision away from me.”
