There could be a change in the making as UK lawmakers are deciding whether they should now make it legal for CD ripping by changing the copyright law.

At present it is illegal for residents in the UK to purchase a CD and then copy the tracks over onto your MP3 player, which is where most of us want our music anyway. It has been proposed by Lord Triesman, Minister for Intellectual Property that the two following changes be made; it would be legal to parody existing work, as well as create CD/DVD copies for personal or private use – now in English - If you have more than one MP3 player or computer you can transfer files to each piece of equipment that you own!

At the moment that are a lot of people who disregard the law and do what they want with the CD/DVD’s that they have purchased. All it will mean is that people can rest easy when they’re doing it.
