Bill Actor Jeff Stewart reportedly tried to commit suicide
It has been reported that Bill Actor Jeff Stewart tried to commit suicide after learning that he was sacked from The Bill.

Jeff has played PC Reg Hollis on the police drama since 1984.

But yesterday he was rushed to St George’s Hospital in Tooting, South London because it is believed that he had slashed his wrists in his dressing room moments after being told that his contract would not be renewed.

It’s said that the decision to not renew his contract follows his week-long suspension last month after losing his temper during filming.

A source said that “This was a desperate cry for help. It’s extremely sad. He is in hospital and is being cared for.”

Let’s hope that he gets that help he needs

I send my sympathy to Jeff Stewart together with many other fans I’m sure. I have always admired his quirky character “Reg Hollis in The Bill and the excellent way he portrays a different style and attitude to the part. After a restful break may Jeff soon be well again and back on our screens - hopefully in The Bill.
