It has been reported that Tom Hanks will no longer star in any romantic comedies. The actor who had success with romantic movies such as Sleepless in Seattle and You’ve Got Mail has said that he will no longer play a similar role because he doesn’t like the way the genre is going.
He has said, “Most romantic comedies now are pretty much about teenagers getting laid, so I’m not going to do that.”

Hanks has most recently appeared in the brilliant Charlie Wilson’s War which has seen him being awarded with an Oscar Nomination. If he wins, it will be Tom’s third Academy Award. Speaking of the third award, he said, “If I’m 90 and haven’t scored another one, I will truly view the latter part of my career as some kind of failure.”
So what do you think about Tom Hanks’ attitude to Romantic Comedies? I personally think he’s got a point. Where has all the romance gone from Rom-Coms?! Bring it back!
