Exclusive Sony PS3 Games Looking Better
In my opinion and also many other gamers would agree, the exclusive games coming to the Sony PS3 are looking better than any other Xbox 360 game in terms of graphics, framerate and sound.

Playstation 3 developers are saying that they have barely scratched the surface with the PS3 and when you take a look at what they done with some of the exclusives it shows which games console is the better.

The fact that the PS3 also has the HD drive shows much more content will fit on one disc and will only improve the games vs the 360.

If the rumor comes true that was mentioned earlier today about Bill Gates possibly announcing a new Xbox 360 at CES with a HD-DVD, 320Gb hard drive and Wi-Fi.

Then this just shows again that the 360 has been lacking in many ways against the PS3, it’s clear that I feel the PS3 is better for the above reasons (I have owned both systems) but if you disagree state why you think so in the comments.

Also if you disagree then have you owned both systems, if you have not then I find it hard to see how you can judge.

Take a breath dude. I have never seen an Xbox 360 game with perfect background solidity and excellent draw distances like the PS3 can produce. Stats don’t count for shit to me, performance of the console and fun gaming do though. Just admit it - MS should have gotten it right the first time around and included a HD DVD player in there. As it happens, I am now selling all my HD DVD’s and my clunky HD DVD player - I would advise anyone else to do the same as the format will fall now WB’s have pledged their allegiance to Blu Ray.

They will never back down outa spite. (I rule in favour of 360, ps3 isnt even considered by me) but no matter wat u think. When was the last time anybody heard of Microsoft pulling out of a market. They dont regardless of how well the product is doin.zune 1 failed awfully, so in comes zune 2, a normal company would have just bowed down to apple.xbox 1 failed so they made 360. worst comes to worst and it fails, den out will come a new xbox that will destroy the future minded vision of the ps3, if u take them as rwo products xbox 360 and ps3 theres alot of wat is best(personally i think 360), but if you think wat companies are behind them, you dont need to think twice to know whos more stubborn and hyas the deeper pockets, to outdo the other

  3. Josh says:

note also that zune 2 is doin well and xbox 360 is also doin well, the second attempts usually work well, sam ewit any windows , u wait til service pack 2

I migh sound stupid for saying this but…Sony fanbois should marry Blu ray and get it over with. I probably made my self stupid for sayin that but i was thinking about it all day.

    @homey
    “(i’t has 8 cores u dumbass)”
no it has 8 SPE’s and PPE. it’s like a normal CPU having 12 FPU’s only one CPU block. the SPE are not CPU core at all they are Synergistic Processing Elements capable of threading Floating point operations between each other. This is in fact a very impressive thing… if the PS3 was a scientific computer or a server. I will say this much (this might be a long shot)but most of you PS3 users use your console to play games and other media stuff(Images, music, video, web)…NOT scientific computation, or else “homey” would not have said some thing as stupid as “i’t has 8 cores u dumbass”. as for the PS3 being more powerfull that is a joke, and im not laughing. The original design of the PS3 was not even supposed to used a GPU, because it was going to have two of the Cell CPU processors. But when Sony saw the revolutionary ATI GPU in the Xbox 360 that was Custom designed for the Xbox 360, and was 1.5 years ahead of its time (since the PC didn’t see similar Unified Shader technology until January 30, 2007), then Sony was forced to removed one of the Cell CPUs in the PS3, and instead add a Nvidia GPU. But there was NOT time to custom design the GPU, so Sony was forced to included a four-year old generic GPU in the PS3. That is why people often point out the vast superiority of the Xbox 360 GPU. and to reapeat my sel again the GPU is waht gives a console Graphical superiority not he CPU.

And hey sense im on the subject lest talk memory.

When it comes to RAM, the Xbox 360 certainly DOES have fundamental advantages over the Playstation 3!

For example, the CPU of the PS3 can NEVER access more than 256MB of RAM at any point. The Xbox 360 CPU is free to access up to 512MB of RAM if there was a need. With the PS3, there are plenty of times when the CPU needs more than 256MB of RAM, and the Video-RAM of the PS3 is actually using less than 256MB of RAM, which means that if the PS3 had a Unified RAM environment–like the Xbox 360’s–then that unused Video-RAM could help the CPU, like it does on the Xbox 360. OBVIOUSLY, the Xbox 360 RAM design is much more flexible; it helps developers in ways that they enjoy working with.

Even though there have been allot of hardware problems(as much as the PS2 in it’s day) Microsoft did a better job in temrs of making a GAME CONSOLE. They did not howver do a good job coolling th Xbox 360 if you ever look inside the console you would see what i mean.

I feal like a broken record saying this. The reason why Microsoft never integrated the HD DVD drive into the Xbox 360 was cost.Manufacturing cost, Repair cost (Exp PS3), End user cost. If an HD DVD drive was installed in the console they would have had a PS3 price tag at launch and an even more laughable 1year after $400 dollar price tag. And again even if every Studio in switch to blu ray it would not change the fact that you can download HD movies on your PC and stream them to your Xbxo360 (like me). And im not shure if you all know this but you can download movies in HD on Xbox Live, for about $3 you can download and re-download the movie and not have to pay for it. you can also download the SD version of the movie for free, if you happen to go to a freinds house who doesn’t have HD.

  5. Jimmy says:

Ok all you people, including myself are just waisting your time arguing over something this ignorant. First off people will play what they like is PS3 or the 360 the bester system… who really gives a rats arse. I prefer the 360 over the PS3, and some of you prefer the PS3 thats your choice and no matter how much you pull numbers out of your butt to make you look smart its not going to change people opinion on what they enjoy playing.

And a simple fact for a “gaming system” the PS3 was overpriced. And if you want to get a all in one then its cheaper to buy a PS3, but dont try to “break it down” to make the PS3 cheaper, because some people simply want a machine to play games on.

  6. Owner of both says:

HD-dvd war engineered to promote use of downloadable media by microsoft. Hence not fully incorporating an HD-DVD drive in every xbox. If they were serious, they would have done this.

Think how good the xbox would have been with an HD-DVD drive with the extra space if it can match, at least, the PS3 graphically with COD4 with plain old DL-DVD.

By the time ps3 is hitting its stride, i would not be surprised if the next generation of xbox’s were out, centred around downloadable media.

Unless SONY pull their finger out and change their marketing plan soon, as evidenced by their recent shifts with respects to multiple priced, specced, models, rumble pads, etc. the “console war will be over before it has begun.

  7. I hate this website says:

Why is it that everytime this website pops up in on google news it’s headline is total nonsense. I would like to say that it was Sony who said that the PS2 would have Toy Story-like graphics. HA.
but other than that, Drakes looked as good as a 360 exclusive but any better. And as for Lair. . . it wasn’t that nobody could adjust for the controls, it was that the controls were absolute crap and many parts of the game were repetetive and BORING. It was a waste of my money indeed. I’m not a fanboy. I don’t even own an xbox or an xbox 360. I currently have a PS3 and no I do not have PSN or the internet for that matter. I wouldn’t even have a PS3 if it wasn’t given to me as a birthday gift. I do have drakes and Lair as well as utIII, however, I have to say that UTIII sucks for the PS3, it is far too slow and no were near as good as the PC version. although I don’t like the PC version either the only differences between the last 2 UT games are mostly cosmetic. I still play the original and 2004 from time to time but I sold III to my neighbor. I’ll say that Drakes was fun for a while but I have already beaten it and the I think that the games is repetetive and boring just like lair. and heavenly sword was a crapshoot. Sure it has it’s fun moments, until you realize that it is nothing more than a boring hack n slash.
That said, I will hold my breath on the winner of 08′ because I don’t really care. I will save up and buy a 360 by next June and a Wii(if I can find one) by December and have a complete collection of U.S. consoles from the Magnavox Odyssee up to now(now being the end of the year.)

  8. Greg says:

Overpriced? The 40 gig PS3 is $50 cheaper than the XBOX 360 elite, and the 80 gig PS3 is $50 more expensive. This does not include the $100 wireless adapter. And if you want HDMI support you either have to buy the elite, or the other models plus an HDMI add on.

  9. nitro says:

failure rate xbox 360 = 15 times failure rate of PS3

    enough said

  10. MDK says:

    @Deviclry2k6
Ok. So you know what you’re talking about. You still have not explained to me why it is that only a year after it’s release that the PS3 has gaming graphics which are superior to the Xbox 360 i.e perfect draw distances, no fragmentation or “jaggies” in it’s exclusives i.e. Ratchet and Clank and Unchartered. It is my personal belief that non exclusive games that come out on both consoles look “sharper” on the PS3 aswell i.e. Colin Mcrae Dirt, Assassins Creed, etc… I have had both consoles since their respective release dates - tried and tested mate. Also - the tree test! Yes the tree test - you might laugh but this is my own subjective test to gauge the power of a console. Look at the trees in Unchartered - amazing! No jaggies or roughness. If the memory within the PS3 is so poor then how can so many things be going on in a game including the superior use of lighting and character animation, wind and water effects all interacting with each other to create a believable environment? Now take the trees from PGR4 - great game but crap trees with no real defenition and harsh colours. The PS3 seems to be the only console here which can present more true to life images. Let’s talk results not jargon.
BTW I am still a 360 “fan”, I am just coming to the realisation that for me the PS3 will emerge as the better performance machine, though admittedly at the moment it does’nt have enough games and has a few framerate issues.
