As if we did not already know how popular the Xbox 360 was, Microsoft felt that they had to announce to the world that they have sold 17.7 million consoles to date. Further to add salt in to the wounds of Sony, Microsoft also announced that 8.1 million copies Halo 3 have been sold since its release in September.

According to news.teamxbox.com other figures that Microsoft announced was that Mass Effect has sold 1.6 million copies of the game in only its first six weeks since being released. It seems that Microsoft loves to let the other games consoles know who are king.
