Jon Hamm Joins The Day The Earth Stood Still Cast

The remake of The Day The Earth Stood Still has had an addition to its cast. The latest actor to join the sci-fi film is Jon Hamm. Hamm earned a Golden Globe nominee for his role in Mad Men but will be donning the white coat for his turn in the film.
Jon Hamm will play Dr. Granier a NASA official who recruits Helen (played by Jennifer Connelly) to the scientific team which is investigating the arrival of the alien Klaatu (Keanu Reeves).
The Day The Earth Stood Still is being directed by Scott Derickson and will hit theaters in late 2008.
