Manchester United Defender Jonny Evans Questioned Over Rape!

Jonny Evans aged 19 who has spent the last season on loan from Sunderland as a defender for Manchester United, and has been questioned in connection with the alleged rape of a 26 year old woman at the Great John Street Hotel in Manchester.

A spokesperson for the police at first said that a man had been arrested on suspicion of rape but that comment has now been withdrawn. The entire Manchester United team is to have said to attended the party and apparently the players were entertained by dancers during their meal. They are also said to have had drinks at the pub ‘Old Grapes’ owned by Coronation Street actress Liz Dawn.

The player was later released on bail until the 23rd February 2008 until further enquiries can be made.
