First Christmas Without Madeline McCann: how must they feel?

Christmas Madeline McCann
With Christmas here in one week I know my children are looking forward to Christmas Eve (the longest night of the year for children), but as I was reading news updates on missing Madeline McCann I could not help think that this is the first Christmas Gerry and Kate will spend without their daughter.

No matter what happened, the past is the past and we can only learn from that and focus on the future and positives. I hope that Madeline is still alive (although we do not really know); I doubt any breaking news will surface before Xmas.

So I wish to say that my thoughts will be with Gerry and Kate McCann this Christmas and Madeline wherever she may be.

Well said. My thoughts are with all of them too.

  2. Robin says:

There are other children and families just as deserving of your thoughts and who you might also be able to financially help too. Maybe even somebody you know? Not so self-indulgent perhaps as the ‘McCann Brand’ but more worthy of Christmastide.

Madeline is unlikely to be alive and perpetuating the myth that she is is unlikely to help anybody.

  3. Kathy Urchik says:

What about the news of the Private Detectives knowing her wherabouts and hopefully returning her to her parents by Christmas?

  4. its really sad

who would do such a sad thing

who ever it is are sick

  5. Jaime says:

My heart goes out to Madeline but these two pigs you want to call parents don’t deserve sympathy…what they deserve are charges brought forth for neglect

  6. Diana says:

I wish the same thing. Please… already has been too much suffering of this family.

  7. jacci says:

I absolutly agree, unfortunatly we cannot turn back the clock. ALL my thought, hopes and prayers are with little Madeleine, her mother, father, brother, sister and extended family this Christmas.

  8. Trigs says:

No worries, Metodo3 have said they know where she is and she’ll be home for Christmas.

Surely we all believe everything that Team McCann says in this case?

So there is absolutely no cause for alarm.

I feel sorry for the wee girl, but her parents are cold-blooded liars, at best.

    For Kathy Urchik:

If you look at the background of the Private Detectives they are as unsuited to the task and lacking in credibility as the removed Portuguese detective investigating the case. Unfortunately, as in many other areas, the McCanns have wasted significant money on detective agency fees which could have gone to more worthwhile causes. They need to accept that if Madeline was not killed in the apartment (otherwise how would her ‘limp body’ be carried away?)all of the publicity would frighten any abductor into killing her and disposing of the body, like all the other cases of child abduction. What I would like to know is why you all think that Madeline is more worthy of your grief than countless other missing and damaged children? It is not as if you know her or the family, you only know about her from the media. Is it because she is cute? Log on to some of the children’s charities working in West Africa where arms and legs have been amputated. And donate £10 to help. That is a positive way to celebrate Christmas. I hate to say it but ANY expression of grief from people who have not had direct contact with the McCanns is not mentally healthy (I speak as a mental health nurse). It is living in the same sort of fantasy world as people who believe that characters from ‘The Archers’ are real people. Live your life - make a difference - forget the McCanns.

  10. Lori Bond says:

Boy oh boy, if I am ever in need of mental health assistance, I hope Kathy Urchik will not be assigned to my care! Geeeez, come down a few notches! There is nothing wrong with caring, hoping and praying for someone in need, whether or not you know them personally. We all have our own passions and if yours is children in West Africa, then bless you for it, but we are all different, sharing different heartaches & passions. Show some kindness, “that is a positive way to celebrate Christmas”.
